Key considerations when requesting a quote:
Before pricing:
Many people tend to leave the realization to the last minute. However, creating an illustration is time-consuming: the illustrator needs to design characters, composition, color scheme, and capture the mood of the book. The final illustrations, typesetting, and proofreading also take time, and print shops are often busy. Therefore, we recommend starting to think about your publication at least 4-5 months before the planned release.
Details of the quote:
When requesting a quote, don't just say, "I need 10 book illustrations." Provide detailed information:
- What type of illustration do you need (e.g., story, novel, comic)?
- What size and orientation do you envision for the image or publication?
- What style of illustrations do you have in mind? (Attaching sample images is recommended.)
- How many illustrations do you need?
- Do you need a book cover graphic?
- Is prepress required?
- How much time is available for project implementation?
- Provide details from the manuscript to understand the mood and characters of the book.
After accepting the quote:
If you accept the quote, we will discuss the details, draw up a contract, and begin work at the agreed-upon time.
Workflow:
To start work, we need a "technical script" that includes the necessary scene descriptions. Based on the script, we create outlines, develop characters, and send the rough drafts to you for review. Based on feedback, we make modifications, further refine the illustrations, and then deliver the final works to you.
Payment for Illustrations:
According to the contract, we request an advance payment at the beginning of the work, which is 50% of the total amount. The remaining amount is invoiced upon completion of the work.
Sample Drawing:
There is an option to create a sample drawing to ensure you are satisfied with our style and abilities. The sample drawing is free unless it is used for commercial purposes. If you choose us, the sample drawing will be billed as part of the project.
