Project Initiation: Idea and Concept
The project for the children's book "Tanyasi világ" began when Steiner Györgyi, the author, approached the Galantusz Grafika team with an exciting and creative challenge: to create illustrations for a brand new children's book using colored pencils. Györgyi detailed the story she envisioned, which aims to showcase the beauties and values of rural Hungarian life to children. The first step involved aligning the story text with the mood represented, ensuring that the illustrations perfectly reflect Györgyi's vision.
Design Phase: From Concept to Sketch
Once the basic ideas were clarified, Galantusz Grafika’s illustrators began the preliminary design of the characters and scenes. This process included several creative meetings and sketching phases, where the illustrators continually refined their ideas. During this phase, special attention was paid to creating attractive, attention-grabbing illustrations that consider the age and interests of the children’s book readers.
Implementation Phase: Creation of the Final Illustrations
- Starting from the approved sketches, each illustration was created in A4 size using colored pencils. During the illustration process, emphasis was placed on the richness of details and the warmth of the colors, essential for depicting the ambiance of rural life. Alongside the illustration work, designing the book cover and the book layout were also responsibilities of Galantusz Grafika, ensuring the aesthetic and content unity of the book.
Pre-press Preparation and Final Result
- After the artistic work was completed, the pre-press preparation followed, which included converting the illustrations into a digital format and precisely setting the printing specifications. Galantusz Grafika ensured that the quality of the final product faithfully reflected the richness of details and the color palette of the original illustrations.
The children's book "Tanyasi világ" was successfully published independently and received favorable reception among readers. The book’s presentation at the 92nd Festival Book Week further increased interest, with Steiner Györgyi personally attending the event to sign books.
